Senior Software Engineer
You will architect and build the scalable backend systems that support our vertical-specific platforms. This role is critical to ensuring our operational products remain fast, resilient, and highly available for clients handling mission-critical, real-world tasks.
What You Will Be Doing
- Architect, develop, and maintain resilient backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs using modern languages including Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Design and implement distributed system architectures capable of handling high-volume, real-time data from field operations.
- Lead complex technical initiatives from initial system design and data modeling through to deployment and monitoring.
- Optimize database performance and query execution across large-scale PostgreSQL and NoSQL database clusters.
- Implement robust security practices at the code and infrastructure level to meet compliance standards including SOC 2 and HIPAA.
- Write comprehensive automated tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end to maintain code quality.
- Review pull requests from peers, providing constructive feedback to ensure architectural consistency and clean code.
- Collaborate directly with product managers and designers to define technical scope and feasibility for new product features.
- Configure and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Instrument code with comprehensive logging, metrics, and tracing to ensure system observability and rapid incident response.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve severe production incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architectural deep-dives, and documentation.
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a primary focus on backend systems and API development.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining distributed systems in a microservices or service-oriented architecture.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least two modern backend programming languages including Go, Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Deep expertise in relational database design, optimization, and scaling, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Strong operational experience with major cloud providers (AWS preferred, or GCP/Azure) and cloud-native services.
- Advanced knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code to manage production environments.
- Thorough understanding of modern security protocols, authentication mechanisms including OAuth and JWT, and data encryption.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to independently debug complex issues across distributed systems.
- Excellent written communication skills for creating detailed technical design documents and architectural diagrams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
